Holy hell. Some of those names... what kind of weirdo calls their kid Prairie or Cloud or argh actually most of the names in the sibset with Prairie.

I actually LOVE the name Prairie -- I've only heard it on her. But hers is the only "non-name" first name in the group -- all the rest are fairly established (Selah and Baruch are Hebrew names, Patience is a virtue name from at least Puritan days). But I know it's odd.

Yeah, I think the mn for Prairie makes it seem REALLY out there -- but on its own, I love it. Her mom chose it partly because it has the sound of "prayer" in it, which I LOVE.

I find myself oddly intrigued by Sparrow. I don't think I could give it to an actual human, but it got me thinking of bird names I like: Raven, Robin and Dove. What a sibset that would be!

That's kinda how I feel about the name, too. She's an adult, and it seems to suit her -- I think even "out there" names can become normal enough sounding once you know a person (my husband has an equally unusual name, and to me it's just his name). Don't think it's got any good nicknames, though.

I love Dove (obviously), and Robin more for a boy. Raven I think I've heard too much -- and heard people "self-name" with it, which is kinda lame.
