These are names I've seen over the past few weeks at my work. I only see the names, so I don't know the genders or cultures of the people behind them. Some of these aren't bad, just unusual in my area, or spelled differently. And some are pretty bad.
Prinnis
Alma
Zebella
Darlyne
Loan
Deja
Caelyn
Apollo
Chloie
Pageant
Mairim
Kimber
Elvia
Crane
Meray
Kelvin
Dionee
Boravy
Auina
Grecia
Mayra
Keida
Joscelyne
Mirella
Rikkianne
Amira
Kalia
Chyenne
ETA for this anecdote: one amusing name I ran across was Sirnorman. I stared at it a while before I figured out it was supposed to be Sir Norman (but our forms don't give the option of a prefix). The full name turned out to be Sir Norman W Cuthbert III. My first thought was that it's a joke, but you have to have photo ID to get an account. Apparently we had a knight in my little American suburban city library LOL.

Date: 2012-04-01 03:13 pm (UTC)I like Amira, but I also tend to like middle eastern names. Some of the other ones could be Greek, maybe? but a lot of them are really bad....

Date: 2012-04-01 04:26 pm (UTC)I know of someone named Kimber and I kind of like it, but would rather have it be a nickname for Kimberly than a name on its own.

Date: 2012-04-02 04:41 am (UTC)Eek, it makes me a bit nervous this entry is unlocked! I also work at a library, and we have this big thing about patron right to privacy. Maybe your library isn't so uptight about privacy? I guess there are no identifying details (middle/last names, etc.), so you're probably good!

Date: 2012-04-02 05:02 am (UTC)I was thinking that it would be fine because it's only first names, but maybe from now on I'll lock these kinds of posts just to be on the safe side. As far as I know, as long as I don't tell anyone what materials the patrons have checked out, I'm good. But I'd much rather be safe than sorry!
