What do you guys and gals think of the name "Wren" for a baby boy? It would be after the small bird of the same name. (I've seen it used for a girl before.)

I think it works better as a girl's name.

I prefer it on a girl. Ren could work for a boy, but Wren just looks feminine to me.

I prefer it for a girl, like other people have said. Maybe it's because I associate it with the comic strip Baby Blues, where the baby daughter's name is Wren. That's the first time I ever heard it used as a name.

Same here, with Baby Blues. It's definitely a feminine sounding name.

Like everyone else, I prefer it on a girl. I hope your last name doesn't start with a Ch.

My mum wanted to add the German endearment "chen" to Wren's name as a nickname, but realises how unfortunate it looks written down. Lucky, as I don't think that Wren-chen sounds all that pretty.

For me, it's definitely a girl's name.

;A; yeah, the first time i heard it, i thought it was a boy's name. it was until i "researched" that i realised it can be a girl's name too and a bird's...

I like Renly for a boy and Wren for a girl (i actually like Renly for a girl as well, but it is the more masculine of the two names)

It's on my name list. I'm pregnant with a baby girl. Wrens are my favourite birds. They're beautiful :) so I definitely see it more as a girls name. But it could also work for a boy. But I would probably spell it 'Ren'.

I have a younger cousin named Ren (a boy) - It really fits him.

I've seen it on both, so I don't care- boy or girl.

Not a fan of the name on either, so it doesn't matter

I know a guy called Ren, which is short for Rennell.

Never heard of one called Wren, though.

I hate it in general, but I tend to think it works a little better on boys than on girls.

they used 'Wren' as a boy's name in Pretty Little Liars. I actually like it more for a boy than a girl.

It's a really feminine-sounding name. I wouldn't use it on a boy.

I absolutely LOVE it. When I was in high school, there were these two sisters that went to our school named Wren and Quin (spelled with one 'n') and they were both so quirky and interesting and lovely, so I think of those names fondly! I also really like the name Lark.

I like Wren for either actually, but I've always known it as a girl name. But it's definitely a favorite name. I had thought of Amelia Wren but I think Wren Amelia would work beautifully as well.

It's a potential nickname for my son, and I like that it reminds me of a little bird. He's gonna be momma's baby bird. But it wouldn't have the W, just because his actual name wouldn't have the w, but nicknames sometimes don't follow their actual name sometimes, so who knows =] And it's one of many potential nicknames from my naming choice.

And I've never heard it for either gender, thus far. I would lean towards boy, having never associated it with either. The closest I've heard was a dude named Renz I used to know. I always thought that was his nickname, but, nope. That's a legit name, I guess?

Good luck deciding. I'm partial to androgynous names myself, and I like names like Ashley for men.

My daughter is called Wren :) I couldn't imagine it on a boy.

I really like it as a girl's name, but I think I could accept it as a boy's name.
