Name I saw on a tombstone from the 1800s:  Achilles Smith.

So that got me wondering: what are your favorite names inspired by various mythologies/legends?

Growing up I had a friend named Athena, I always liked it. Then there is the actress Olympia Dukakis, I sort oflike Olympia, but wouldn't use it.

Achilles reminds me...a friend of mine's husband wanted to name their daughter (if they had one, they ended up having another boy...) Achilles. I asked her if he was aware Achilles was a man.... She wanted to spell it Ackealiz, though... D:
I was praying they had a boy.

Forgot about Ulysses, that is a name in my family passed down for four generations now, except it is spelled Ulises.

I work with someone named Artemis, which I kinda like, but I think I like the goddess more than I like the name.

THISBE!!! My husband isn't a fan. :( He likes Ulysses though.

I'm really liking the combo Thisbe Dove. I like Atlas a lot too, although I'm not sure if that is what you meant by mythology.

Ooh, have to say it is such a pet peeve of mine when people name their kids Loki. Loki, really?!

Artemis. I would hatehatehate the nick name Art, though, haha!

Athena, Andromeda... Ariadne and Persephone are okay (though the former now makes me think of Inception)...

My husband is Greek and if we have a girl we will name her Eleni, which is a version of Helen (of Troy).
