How annoying. I'm glad I only once got a "Dirty Diana" reference thrown at me. Once was enough to annoy me.
I remember once reading an article (it was probably posted in this community) about girls with the name Katrina right around the time the hurricane hit, and the things people would say to them. So many stupid comments...
I hear you. My name is Nikki, and once when I was seventeen, a customer at the bookstore where I worked started singing Prince's Darling Nikki. I was HORRIFIED.
I still love the name Cecilia though, and it was on my girls list. (I ended up with two boys though)
Cecilia: pros - can be shortened to C.C. (could be a pro or a con depending on whether you like C.C.), it's the name of a saint. Celia: pro - it's short, sweet and pretty. :) I prefer Celia, but I do also like Cecily (which someone else already brought up).
Cecilia is harder to pronounce, but it's a version that allows you to use Celia as well. Celia is easier to pronounce, but has less variation to offer.
I kind of prefer Celia, Cecilia is a mouthful in any language.
