Suggestions by bulk please!

I just cannot find a middle name that I *LOVE* with Ambrose. I've scoured books, and sites, and asked forums and I'm still at a loss.

Please just spam me with suggestions. I'm sort of hoping that volume will ensure finding a name I love. :)


I will only say that I do not want a trendy name like Ambrose Jayden. Popular is fine, just not trendy or made up.

I like most of the "G' suggestions, Holden was oddly enough a suggestion I had gotten off another forum so I thought it was cool to see it again. I liked Deidrick, and I like Digby (because I would have NEVER thought of it) but I have to admit that my favorite was Penn. I might make it Pennington but I love that Penn could be a nn should he want that. And I usually hate nicknames! Thanks!!!!!

do people usually use nicknames of their middle names? I mean besides "Mary Kate" or whatever.

Only if they HATE their first name. I've already done that debate about going by a middle name, and it's almost always just a big hassle. However, sometimes a person just hates their name and wants to be called by something else. It's generally the middle name or a nickname of that middle name that gets chosen. I know a guy named Gordon Lincoln lastname who goes by Lin.

Henry in any form is pretty much out because my husband vetoes it. Otherwise I think Ambrose Henry is a nice name. I'm also juggling Ambrose Edward but it's my uncle's name and I don't want it to see like I've played favorites, as we've never used a family members name before. It wouldn't be after him either, I just liked it's sound. Ambrose Pennington is a good option, as is Ambrose Theodore but I'm still open to suggestions.

What about Ambrose Xavier? It was on our list. I LOOOOOVE Ambrose and am so jealous you're using it. We're having a girl, and Xavier won out as the first name so we could use with with Augustus. What about Ambrose Lane. Ambrose Elijah. Ambrose Eli.

If we have a boy next! I've had Gabriel on the list forever, but I always find a reason not to use it. Then I thought Theodore Ambrose, but quickly realized that I just loved Ambrose way more!

See I like Xavier but it's never been a LOVE name for me. Besides I see Xavier and it's X-men for me too, and I've already used one X-Men name when I used Remy. Remy was Gambit's real name, and Gambit was always my favorite growing up, plus I love the sound of it. It was such a geek moment, and I didn't tell anybody what name I finally went with since they hated everything else.

When are you due? I cannot wait until we are pregnant again!! I go in about a week (have to reschedule around my cycle) to have the IUD removed, and then I have a month afterwards before I'm back to normal and then we can officially begin trying! It's getting so close that I'm getting anxious!

That just reminds me of Remy and I don't want to do anything close to his name. My family will think it's morbid.

I was thinking of doing something that meant "forest" or "woods" or something to that effect since Remy's middle name was Forrester and I thought if I did it that way it would be more tasteful. Elsworth, Emsley, Woodward, Woodrow, Ellwood, Ogden are all along those lines. I just don't feel confident that any of those are a great pick.

Out of all of these suggestions, my husband only likes one. Theodore. And he said "it's not bad". Sigh. On the bright side at least it narrows it down! I still like Edward, Penn/Pennington, and Cornelius but Theodore is a awesome name too!
