Too weird?
What do you guys think of the name Marcial, pronounced like Marshall, for a boy?
I don't like the Marshall spelling, and I kind of think Marcial works because of the name Marcia, and I've seen it used in a couple places, but WDYT?
ETA: Just curious, would it make a difference if it was spelled Martial? Since that is a real word at least.
Also, I posted below but I thought I'd put it here too, this is purely hypothetical. No child is in imminent danger of being named this. :)

A little too bold for my taste if it's going to be a first name, but it's quite clever and original.

Yes, it began with me thinking "oh martial sounds like the name Marshall LOL" and then the thinking continued towards the names Marcia/Marsha and then became Marcial. Also I love mythology so the connection to Mars (which the meaning of the name Marshall doesn't have at all, of course) was a big selling point for me.
Anyway, I'm definitely not planning on naming my son Marcial... I was just interested for the sake of the idea.

It would be pronounced "Mar-see-al". It might also look like a girl's name to Anglo speakers. I'd avoid it.

Marshall is a perfectly good spelling---don't obsessed over the "marsh" part (few people do). Then again, I might be biased because one of my best friends in my freshman year of high school had the last name Marshall.

I don't think Marshall is a bad name, I just don't prefer it, and wouldn't want it for my own child. I know a little boy named Marshall and he's a sweetheart, but I still just don't like the spelling much.
