Quick update

I posted recently about my friend's upcoming baby girl. Hadassa. Except now she's spelling it differently because she thinks it sounds better with an e there, and to avoid having "ass" in the middle. Also a middle name!

So her daughter's name is going to be Hadessah Rae.

Hadassa and Hadessah are so completely different to me. But they are both very pretty :)

I think I say them slightly different, so if she wants to avoid the "ass" in the middle, she succeeded.

I like Hadassah Rae, but putting an E in there completely changes the pronunciation for me and I'm not as much a fan of that. But it's still a great name--your friend chose extremely well! I mean, she could've picked Nevaeh...

I know what you mean about the pronunciations, and while I like the original pronunciation more, I really understood her switch so it doesn't bother me. And you're right, I cannot believe how popular Nevaeh got. I never understood why so many people liked it.

See, I love the idea of Haddie so I didn't care which spelling she went with. Although Dessa (a nn suggested in the previous entry by a commenter) and Essie are cute too. Her mom is going to use the nickname Haddie too so I wasn't alone there. :)
