I've recently fallen in love with the name Blaine (for a boy, just to be clear).  According to behind the name, its origins lie in Scotland and it means "yellow."
I'd never heard of it before watching the show Glee, but the second that I heard it, something just said "I love this name!" in my head.

How do you feel about it? Do you think it would age well from boyhood to adulthood?

All I think of is Pretty In Pink: "That's a major appliance, that's not a name!"

It's not really my style, but I wouldn't do a double-take if I saw a boy with it.

I was getting ready to type this exact quote! Good thing I checked first, wouldn't want to be redundant.

Blaine was the go to asshole name in the 80's, every mean "preppy" boy was either a Chip or a Blaine, so that's the connotation it carries for me.

Yeah it had it's heyday in the early to mid 80's so by the time you were born it had pretty much passed out of popular culture most likely :)

I think it ages perfectly fine, but it's not my style. I'm just rather indifferent about it!

I had a male Barbie doll named Blaine when I was younger. That is, he came with the name, I didn't name him that. That's automatically what I think of, lol.

Otherwise, personally I don't really like the sound of the name. It sounds to close to "plain" to me, and also "bleh." I don't know, that's probably not a good reason to dislike a name, but there it is. I don't hate it, but I don't like it either.

My brother-in-law's name is Blaine. I wouldn't use it because of the family connection but it's a nice name.

I'm not a fan. I dislike the sound and...Blaine is often the jerky jock character. :/

The only Blaine I know is in 60's and it suits him so I'd say it ages well. I do like it.

I can only think of Glee. And I hate Glee, and Blaine in particular on it, so I would never be able to get away from that association.

And then I think of David Blaine, which isn't great either.

The only Blaines I've ever known have been female. I know twin girls named Mallory and Blaine (age 19), and ironically I also know a girl named Mallory Blaine (age 22). In high school it was on my list for boys, along with many other similar names, Blaise, Blake, Brendan, Brady, Bradford, etc., but over the years I've narrowed my list down to one or two names per letter and Blaine has dropped off. I think it would age fine.

My husband is a huge fan of Blaine. I like it, but not as much as our other ideas.

I like it a lot. I think of Blaine on Glee (who I love) and also the gym leader (fire type) of Cinnabar Island from Pokemon red and blue.

All I can think of is Blaine the Mono from the Dark Tower series. "Blaine is a pain."

It reminds me of the singer Blaine Larsen and he's got to be in his 20's now.
