If you were born today...
Feb. 19th, 2012 11:07 amThis is actually more like "If you were born in 2010 in the United States" because that's the most recent year the Social Security Administration has up at this time. Anyway, go to the year you were born and look up the ranking for your first and middle name(s). Then, go to those rankings in 2010 and see what your name combo would be! There's no need to post your birth year or your real name(s) if you're not comfortable with it. Also, unfortunately, this only works for those in the top 1000 names. If you're in another country and have your own name rank list, feel free to use that!
For example, if you were born in 1973 and your name is Richard Paul, you would go to 1973 and find that Richard was ranked 16 and Paul was ranked 24. Then, you would go to 2010 and find numbers 16 and 24. Your new name would be Matthew Samuel.
SSA's list is here: http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/
So how do you feel about your "new" name? Like it? Hate it? Do you think it suits you better than your real one?
Mine is in the comments!

Date: 2012-02-19 07:12 pm (UTC)Ew to Jordyn. I like Lillian a lot though.
Husband -- Anthony Richard (18/32 in 1988) >> Elijah Landon
That's not bad. I like Elijah more than Landon, but they sound nice together.
Mom -- Katherine Helen (81/117 in 1960) >> Autumn Annabelle
That's alright. It sounds sort of silly though.
Dad -- Warren Robert (131/4 in 1955) >> Preston Jayden
Holy cow, that's awful.
Brother -- Paul Robert (53/13) >> Julian Christopher
I actually like that better than my brother's actual name!

Date: 2012-02-19 07:15 pm (UTC)New name: Elsie Peyton Makenzie
I approve of Elsie and Peyton is okay. Makenzie.... No.
I prefer my real name, obviously. I used to hate my name, but I've grown to really, really love it.

Date: 2012-02-19 07:16 pm (UTC)My new name: Molly Layla
I don't know. . .I'm not sold. I don't hate it, but I'm kind of "meh" about it.
Just for the fun of it, my family's names for this game would be:
Michael [family name, so not rated]
Mya Brooke
Kaylee [family name, so not rated]

Date: 2012-02-19 07:20 pm (UTC)Eric Ryan (spouse) - Logan Christopher
I like Isabella & Christopher, but not Logan (for a boy) or Natalia. When I thought we would have children, one of the names we threw around was Isabella Renee, so I quite like it.

Date: 2012-02-19 07:23 pm (UTC)I ended up doing this for my immediate family:
Me: Mary Grace (38 & 150, 1989) --> Allison Daniela (I like the middle name a lot more than the first name.)
Brother: Peter Gabriel (81 & 86, 1992) --> Adam Parker (I like this one a lot.)
Sister: Josephine Ellen (353 & 346, 1997) --> Ainsley Jasmin (I'm so sorry, JoJo.)
Mother: Helen Mary (95 & 1, 1957) --> Gabriella Isabella (Individually pretty but redundant together.)
Father: Daniel Joseph (18 & 12, 1956) --> Elijah Mason (Middle name is trendy, but I like it.)
It amuses me that today, my siblings and I would all end up with "A" names.

Date: 2012-02-19 07:29 pm (UTC)Elias Jackson
Natalie Julianna
Jackson Sawyer
So yeah, Jackson repeats. :\ I'm not really a fan of Jackson or Sawyer in particular, but I do think it would make a good sibset with Natalie Julianna.
And Adam Parker does sound good!

Date: 2012-02-19 07:30 pm (UTC)Just for giggles I did my hubby & son too... DH is John Jay which was 8/141 in 1980 and would be Daniel Elias, which I really like. DS was born in 2010 and his name (Nolan Grayson) is 104/122. In 1980 he would have been Ian Ricky (LOVE Ian, not a fan of Ricky or the combo) and in 1981 he would have been Victor Ricky (not a fan of either and sort of hate the combination).

Date: 2012-02-19 07:31 pm (UTC)In 2010, 117 and 305 for girls is Annabelle Joanna
Like Joanna, but not sure that I like it with Annabelle; also, Annabelle just doesn't work with my current last name (LN is eight letters long, with three vowels in it).
ETA to do this for the family:
Mum: Annette Marie (73, 109 - 1961) would be Trinity Mary in 2010.
Dad: Ronald Lawrence (24, 67 - 1961) would be Samuel Henry (interesting: Henry was his dad's middle name)
Maternal Grandmother: Mattie Laurena (153, ? - 1938) would be Makenzie
