I would love to adopt a little girl in the near future and I hope to use my mother's name Janet for a middle name. However, I am having trouble coming up with a first name that sounds good with it. My last name begins with an M and has 3 syllables.

I like names that are 100% feminine and not too common, but not crazy either. I dislike names that are spelled "kreatively" too. Huge pain in the butt to explain to people that your name is Maddysyn -whatever the last name is- w/ 2 D's and 2 Y's.

Grace? I think it would go really well with a longer, three syllable last name. And it sounds nice with Janet.

Otherwise maybe Rose, Catherine, Amy (the creative spellings of Amy are actually nice -- Amie and Aimee. You can be a bit different and still be sort of traditional), Sarah, Sophie...

Or if you find it hard to find something you like, could you shorten Janet to Jane, or go with Jeanette for a different emphasis?

Amie is my favourite spelling. I have a friend called Amie. That's probably why!

If we had a second daughter her name would have been Jacqueline-Marie Janet LastName. My MIL is also Janet and I love the name Jacqueline.

I'm a Jacqueline Marie and I always hated my name. I too, go by Jackie, and still hate it. Definitely to each his or her own. :)

Really, anything with one or three syllables will go well. Remember to not have adjoining names have the same number of syllables, as differing numbers make a more pleasing combination to the ear.
