My relative's name is Beryl. She pronounces it like Pearl with a B. I think it's a stone. I like that it's unique. But it might be too close to barrel for me, idk.
Beryl was a pretty common name way back at the beginning of the 20th century. It's pronounced barrel. A lot of the old names are coming back now. It is a gem. I like it.
