Dec. 28th, 2011 06:11 pmMy friend Daniela and her husband Jason just had a baby, Joshua Felix. I was quite surprised by the name, but I really like it!
Daniela has 2 sisters, Alice and Andréia, and Jason has a twin sister, Sandra and 2 younger sisters, Bianca and Elaina.
I also spent the holidays in easterb Quebec with my sister and her boyfriend and his family. Her boyfriend, Jacques, is one of 8 children. In order they are:
Roland (married to Marie, has 2 children: Fred and Marie-Annick)
Réjean (married to Lise)
Daniel (married to a woman who has a very French name that starts with M, but I can't remember right now)
Jacques (has daughter Talia from previous marriage, lives with my sister Marion and her daughter Kiyah)
Suzanne (married to Jean, has daughter Naida prn Nigh-ee-dah)
Marie-Diane (has daughter Ariana, I think a foster son named William)
Nathalie (married to Dany, has 2 children: Émi prn Amy and Rachel prn Rachelle)
Gilbert
I also met their neighbours, sisters named Luce (rhymes with puce) and Lucie. I find this hilarious.
ETA: I was looking up Sharon Horgan (actress/comedienne from "Pulling" among other shows) and she has two daughters with really interesting names: Amer and Sadbhb. The second name, if I understand correctly, is prn Sive or Saeve, and since she is Irish, it makes sense. Amer I'm not sure about because it seems to be a variant of Amir, which is odd for a girl.

Date: 2011-12-29 12:13 am (UTC)I like Joshua. It's classic but it's not used very often by people I've come acorss, at least.
I also like Daniela and Biance.
How do you pronounce Rejean? Ray-zjhon? What about Lise? Lee-say?
I'm not a huge fan turning Amy into Emi and Rachelle into Rachel although I'm aware that you're probably from a heavily french part of Canada so that's probably just my own cultural biases.
I think the Luce and Lcie are hilarious, too!
Do you think Saeve would be pronounced Say-eve or Save like save the coupons?
