In reference to middle names for Gemma

UPDATE: I've poured through all the ideas so many of you have given me, plus what I've taken from online sites, 2 name books, and one contender my son threw in. A lot of heart-wrenching editing later and it leaves me with this list. I have 2 HUGE favorites (meaning I love them all, just those two a little more) so my last option is where I combined those two. I don't know how I feel about having two middle names in general, but I kinda like it here. Probably because I'm indecisive. What do you think of these:

1) Gemma Cosette Gibbons
2) Gemma Suntine Gibbons
3) Gemma Hermione Gibbons
4) Gemma Delphine Gibbons
5) Gemma Mignonette Gibbons
6) Gemma Hermione Cosette Gibbons (I can't help it, I really love both!)

You helped me so much in making a decision! Thanks!

I like Gemma Cosette a lot. 2 middle names in general isn't a problem in my mind, but those two together is a lot of name! However, if it's what you love, I say go for it!

Gemma Mignonette makes me think of filet mignon, or marionettes, but my brain makes pretty random associations sometimes, so it could just be me. :)

Yeah, that's fair lol. The spelling alone could definitely conjure that image. And I wouldn't want a name that makes you think of steak lol. But I pronounce it differently. Filet Mignon is pronounced MEEN-Yown (right? pretty close?) and I pronounce Mignonette at MIO-Net.

I adore the name Delphine, but my husband vetoed it :( You say in your post that you have your favourites, so it sounds like the decision is made! Go with the names that you love.

It's either going to be #3 or #6. I really loved Delphine, but I love Hermione more. Now it's only a question of if I pair it with Cosette or not.

And then there's my husband's choice to consider, well he doesn't have one, he just retains veto power. Maybe. I don't trust his judgement about names anymore after he didn't like Roma Aubrielle. Or Rafe Hollis! He usually says that he couldn't care less. That lasts right up until I have a name I'm 100% on and then he magically cares. I want another name geek like me! That's why I love this community, I have a ton of you people!! haha :) (FYI, this paragraph counted as the writers block rant challenge)

How many middle names is legal exactly? And if you're filling out forms, do you only fill in the first of those middle names, or do you have to list them all? I have heard of people using 3 or 4 middle names, and I've always wondered how that would work.

After that whole Talula does the Hula from Hawaii name I can see how a long official name could be problematic.

This is my favorite as well. I think #6 is a little long and unwieldy, but like everyone is saying, if that's your favorite, go for it! :)

Personally Gemma Delphine is my favorite but Gemma Cosette would be second.
If you really like Hermione AND Cosette though, to me it sounds like you already have your answer :)

Lol! Yooneeq made me laugh. Thank you! I admit I have a hard time reining myself back. My practice is that I will throw EVERY whim I feel like onto my list, but I will edit with all fervor and honesty, even if I have to give up something I love. And I no longer concern myself by agonizing over if a name will be unique or popular. It no longer matters, just as long as I think the name looks and sounds beautiful :) I will happily share any name, but it's nice to hear I still retain originality!

Delphine is still really desirable, but I really love Hermione. And even Cosette is getting axed because the more I say it the more it sounds like cassette. Even though it looks beautiful, I think I'm going to have to take it out.

Love hermione! I want to use it as a middle name myself one day if we have a girl. I think the two middle names sound great together and if you love both I say go for that one!

Those are all quite pretty, but my favorite is Hermione. It gives the whole name a nice cadence.

I love option six. In my humble opinion, I think Hermione and Cosette should be switched. I think there's too much breath in between the 'ma' in Gemma and the 'H' in Hermione.

Haha, my best guess what keep ______ in mind, but I could NOT puzzle out what the W could stand for in that line of reasoning. :) I have technically taken out Cosette, but you never know with me. I may just be inclined to attach it again. It's sooo pretty! It will always be in my head :)
