My SIL gave birth this morning, so I thought I post the names of my husband's siblings and their kids, and ours too.

We actually considered Leah for our daughter (it was Ben's great-grandmother's name) but I rejected it because I didn't want to be forever telling people that it's not pronounced Lee-uh.

Ayden is male. I have seen Kiva in this community as an English version of Caoimhe. However, in Ayden's case it is after his great-grandfather Kiwa, which is a Polish/Yiddish version of the Hebrew name Akiva.

I figured it was male, but I couldn't find Kiva on any sites so I was curious. It's not my taste, but there are definitely worse names.

I feel for people who have issues such as the Leah one in your family. I don't have any family members I would want to name anyone after, but it would suck if I did and felt like I shouldn't because it would be an unfortunate name/spelling/pronunciation in current times.

I LOVE the name Maya, and I like the pronunciation of Lay-ah but to me and to everyone who lives where I live Leah is pronounced Lee-ah. I think she'll be correcting people a lot.

Oh hang on, I just thought of something. Is Maya pronounced My-a or May-a? Cause if it is May-a I might cry :p
