I've been watching a British television series and there's an 18 year old boy/man whose name is Jonathan, but his family calls him Jonty. What do you think?
Indeed :p don't see why the name is especially British though, it's unusual, he's the only one I've ever met and I know a lot of Jonathons/ Jons/ Jonnys. Might just be unusual rather than especially british
I think the British accent pronounces the "t" sound more prominently than Americans do... I don't think Americans could ever say Jonty with out sounding like they were trying to fake a British accent.
