Exotic, different, unusual?
Dec. 16th, 2011 03:54 amDoes anyone here know any exotic, different and or unusual names that aren't too common? Names in different languages that don't seen light of day often but are kind of interesting or just plain weird?
Like my name is Maori- Waimirirangi (pronounced rolling your 'R's: Y-miri-rungi. The 'ang' sounding like 'ung' from 'hung'.), I have a cousin named Netalini (pronounced Natalini) and another cousin named Wikitoria (pronounced rolling the R), also Maori.
Maybe something like that (Not Maori necessarily of course). So, thanks :)

Date: 2011-12-15 06:42 pm (UTC)Before we found out the gender of our twins I tried really hard to convince hubby of Kaipara and Ripiro for middle names. I do also love Awhina as a middle name for a girl but with the chance of moving to Canada and her being "a whiner"... well...
The French horn player at band is Rangimakehu, goes by Rangi.

Date: 2011-12-16 12:38 am (UTC)How do you pronounce Maori? May-or-ee?
Netalini and Wikitoria are beautiful! I wonder if Wikitoria is pissed about the advent of Wikipedia, though... And if people make fun of Netalini for sounding like a type of pasta...
