Would you rather used the name "Ivan" as a first or a middle name? Also, what other name would you put it with?

Thanks in advanced!

My friend named her son Ivan Andrew. Dad's name is Andrew.

Personally, it's not my style, but after my friend used it, I have kind of grown to like it. It's not as horrible as I used to think. lol

That video game wouldn't happen to be Metal Gear Solid 3, would it? :P

Personally I think Ivan would be good as a first or middle name!

It could work either way. I think I personally prefer it as a first name, though.

First:

Ivan James
Ivan Hugo
Ivan Anthony
Ivan Charles
Ivan Jeremy
Ivan Joseph
Ivan Timothy
Ivan Matthew
Ivan Thomas
Ivan Daniel

Middle:

Nicholas Ivan
Christopher Ivan
Lucas Ivan
Gregory Ivan
Henry Ivan
William Ivan
Vincent Ivan
Dominic Ivan
Philip Ivan

I hope this helps.

I had a student with that anime and like it because he was such a sweetheart of a little boy. However because he was Hispanic and the I in Spanish is pronounced with an E sound, and other differences between the lanuages, his named was pronounced E-.

That's the way I was pronouncing it.

That's kinda funny because the only Ivans I've ever known are Hispanic but they still pronounce it as you would expect.

I think I would go with it as a middle name. I might do Theodore Ivan or Zachary Ivan. I guess I like the way it sounds with a longer first name.

I like it - but my husband's name is Ivan, so I may be a little bit biased ;)

I went to school with a kid name Ivan, so I'm used to it as a first name. I couldn't use it as either, because even if I pronounced the English way, my family would tease me and pronounce it the Spanish way, because one of my favorite baseball players is named Ivan.
