(on my last post I forgot the 'ap' part on some of the names. In Wales, 'ap' means 'son of', and it is part of the surname. Sometimes you get a modern 'son of' - a boy whose father is genuinely called 'Gwynne' and he becomes '[name] ap Gwynne'. More often than not it's an 'ap [name]' that has been passed down a few generations. I think the female version is 'haf', but I can't be sure as I've only met one.)
