I had a dream the other night in which someone on this comm was asking for "cowboy names." So I listed the following: Colton, William "Billy", Jesse, Wyatt...and then, I decided maybe the person would like some "frontier" names as well. My subconscious' idea? Mississippi--for either boy or girl. Possible nicknames being Pip for a boy and Missi/Missy or Pippi for a girl.

I know a guy named Arizona. It's kinda cool I think..but maybe that's just because he is kinda cool.

Certain people can rock names like that. I think Mississippi sounds like the name of an awkward kid in a novel, perhaps because I read a book in elementary school with a girl named Tallahassee Higgins.

Along the same theme, there's the names Sedona for a girl or Prescott for a boy. Although I'm sure you could make them go for either.

Naming a child after the worst state in the Union, and one with a terrible history of racism? Not a good idea at all, lol. Not to mention a tongue twister. I know of a girl named Nevada though. That's pretty and cowboy!

As far as cowboy names I would add:
(Okay, it took me a while why I kept wanting to say Jessi. Then I realized that Colton made me think of Jessi Colter).
