Is Lara pronounced Lare-a (like Blare) or Lar (like Bar)-a?

Either way I like it enough ( I love the name Nicolette).
I am not a fan of Eleanor, Keira is nice.

I knew a Lara (she pronounced it LAHR-a) who was always being addressed as Laura.
