I was unfortunate enough to hate my birth name and got it changed twice, which was a pretty difficult process, but since then I've been interested in what other people might consider for themselves!

I'm not sure if this is a little out-of-topic, but I'm extremely curious to know: what would you rename yourself, if you absolutely had to, and why? both first and last names would be preferable--thinking up a new surname was pretty much the hardest part for me, haha

At least in America, if you're getting (sadly, only legally) married, a name change is FREE! For Driver's License, passport, college degrees, SSN card, bills... etc. It's time consuming, but wonderful. And they don't make you run any newspaper adds, because (I guess) they assume that with marriage comes you telling a ton of people. I was not so inclined to share.

I was born and named Nicole Lee H--------.
I got married and decided to switch the whole thing up: Coco Lee F-----.
I kept my middle name because it is my Grandmother's middle name (and my husband's mother's middle name) and I actually really like it. But I never went by Nicole. I always went by Nikkie anyways... and still do at home and with my 2 close friends that I've had since before then. But my husband's family, all my nieces and nephews, co-workers... basically everyone calls me Coco.
(BTW - "Coco" was a nickname bestowed upon me when my youngest sister started talking and couldn't say "Nicole", so she called me Coco and it stuck. 20 years later it's still me. To the core.) :-D
