Yeah, it is pronounced KEE-an. Like K+Ian. It is Gaelic.

I think Kyan is a made up, modern spelling. Behind the Name doesn't have it listed and they tend to be more accurate, I believe. Kian is listed as a modern, English variant of Cian. Name Nerds doesn't have Kyan either and they focus on Irish/Scottish/Welsh names. They only show Cian or the anglicization Kean(e). It can be said KEE-an, as you said, or as KEEN. I prefer Cian. I was saying Kyan as Ryan with a K.

I think that what kind of spelling it is, is irrelevant.
It is listed as pronounced Kee-an on many baby name sites. Whether it is listed on some naming websites is irrelevant to me. Also even if the spelling is modern of the same Gaelic name its origin is still Gaelic so it doesn't really matter.
