The name combo game!
Nov. 12th, 2011 07:11 pmWith the surge in activity post-Spotlight and my brand-new pregnancy (29 days!), I am excited to revive the name combination game.
Here's how it works: you provide in a comment a list of your intended first names, followed by a list of your intended middles. (One comment for each gender). Then other members combine these names into their favorite suggestions.
For example, you'd say:
Firsts:
Abby
Beth
Cate
Dana
Middles:
Eve
Fran
Gretel
Heidi
And in response, other members will say
"Abby Fran
Beth Eve
Cate Gretel
Cate Heidi
I hate the name Dana, have you thought of using the spelling Kate..." etc.
It's a great way to get a fresh look at your lists and it really brings a lot of fantastic suggestions together in one super-post.
Boy names and girl names in separate comments keeps things a little neater. Please consolidate all your names into just one comment for girls and one for boys. If this turns into a valuable thing I'll revive it again in a month or two.
Remember, to make this work you need to provide suggestions to people in addition to posting your own. If this gets long, focus your love on the comments with fewer replies.
Have fun and happy combining!

Date: 2011-11-13 03:54 am (UTC)I prefer Helen and Helena because my mom's middle is Helen, and my husband's grandma is Helena. Helene is alright, but I don't like Elaine.
