names from around
Nov. 12th, 2011 04:05 pmSome names I've seen on claims at work lately:
Hugheena
Coco-Joanne
Kebbie - male (I didn't think this was a real name, but I looked it up and it's a Scottish word for walking stick/cane, or the family was just from Kebbie in Sierra Leone, or they are a British soccer fan)
Wileen
Zuber
Juel
Ottilie (I've seen Otilla before)
Hogan
Teresita (I thought it was cute but probably doesn't age well...)
Dileta (makes me think dilettante, or dilate)
Ornella
Clairandrée
Aminael
Mariannie
Haydee
My coworker Nella is due in February, and she will name the baby Allen if it's a boy or Charity if it's a girl. She was going to let her mom name the baby, but decided on those names herself. I think the significance of Allen is cute (it's her name backwards) but I don't like Charity that much. No idea what her boyfriend suggested; her family is very much matriarchal and I don't think he got a say!
Some other coworkers:
Walter James (goes by James), has brother Brian George, sister Joanne Marie Genevieve, and half sister Kimberly Anne.
Katia, has twin Cinzia, sister Vanya and brother Joseph (they thought Giuseppe would be too complicated for people to prounouce)
Sabrina May Monique, sister Bianca Santina Maria
Kimberley Bridget Dorothy, twin Scott William, sisters Hayley Rose Marie, Kelly Lillian Jean and Cheryl Hannah Louise
Juan Marcos, brothers Jozef Guillermo and Roberto Javier
Christina Sheruda (she's Sri Lankan so she has an English name and a traditional one), sister Pamela Fathima, brother Arvin Aruna
Ashley Elizabeth, sister Sarah Elizabeth (after their grandmother), brother Garth Rory
I also remembered the other day a girl I used to work with named Rachelle once told us about her family and it made us all laugh... She has older sisters named Juliette, Marie-Ange and France, which are all pretty average French names... and her twin brother was named Aristotle. Seemed completely random compared to the other names!
