[identity profile] tokibee.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My husband and I have decided to have another child, in about 3-4 years. I have a girl now (Milo-Adrienne) It took me a really long time to find any girl names I really liked..which is why I went with Milo. I have some boys names picked out already:

-Jack
-Hunter
-Elwood
-Oliver

But if we have a girl..I've got nothing! I want something unique..but not weird. I like Teegan..and Harper, and at one point I thought Hunter for a girl too, but thats all I've got.

Suggestions? nothing starting with a K..our last name starts with a K.

For a girl:

I think Hunter would go well. I like Milo's cute tomboy girl name so I looked up some others that are a bit similar in style.

For short names I like

Romey/Roma
Sadie
Tobi
Eden/Edie
Alex/Alix
Maya
Nora
Demi
Iona
Leila
Willow

I like Jack Elwood for a boy. By the way.

I love Sadie all on its own. People seem to think it needs to be a nn.

I like Jack, Hunter, and Oliver, but I'd advise against Elwood because of The Blues Brothers.

Or that's what just makes it more awesome.

That's the thing about a lot of names that get suggested here: they sound awesome in theory, but then you have to realize that someone will be strapped with an unusual name for life. I speak from experience---my name isn't even that unusual, but I constantly have to correct people.

I dunno, I think I would rather have a name people could say and spell (All of my names are hard for people to say and spell, which is why I was so happy to be a girl and marry a guy with a common last name! haha)

I don't think Elwood is that unusual though, I'd rather give my kid that name than say... Harry Potter :P

Then maybe you could use Elwood as a middle name or possibly consider Jake?

I love Elwood and would use it as a middle name, only because I don't think it's a strong enough first name for my tastes.

Spencer or Bailey? Both are typically boys names but have become girls names as well.
