Teagan is technically unisex. I know that, at least where I live, it has gained some noticce because of the girl group Teagan and Sara. I'm not sure of the pronunciation. I know the singer is "tee-gen" with the 'g' making the same sound as in girl. However, it is a diminutive of the name Tadhg, according to Behind the Name, which tends to be fairly reputable, and that name is said "TIEG," as is the name Teague. Based on that, I would guess the correct pronunciation for Teagan is "tie-gen."

Teagan is originally masculine, as you said it is a diminutive for Tadhg, a strictly male name. I don't think I've heard it pronounced any way other than Tee-gen, but Tie-gen sounds legit based on where it came from. Tegan, on the other hand, is a fully female name, as in Tegan & Sara.

I usually see Teagan and Taryn on girls now (I work in Peds, also my sister is a Taryn). They definitely can both be for either but I think in the U.S. and Canada both of those are used more on girls, just as a heads up. =)

Torsten? You could use Tor as a nickname, and then they'd both have the same names as two of the Knights of the Round Table.

I love Tavis. Spelled as so. A little boy in one of my classes I taught in over a decade ago, had the name, and I've loved it ever since.
