Hello fellow names enthusiasts! My name is Hali (pronounced "Hail-ee"). I think my love for names and their meanings stems from the journey I took finding out the meaning of the unusual spelling of my own name.

When I was younger, I used to make up names and keep a journal of them. But I wouldn't stop at first and middle names...I'd often make up/combine last names, too (not to mention brief biographies and pencil-sketched pictures of them). I think this comes from the fact that I've always been a writer and loved creating and developing characters. Did anyone else do this?

I have notebooks full of names.
I would make a family tree.

Grandparents f/m/l name
down to the kids
and the kids, had kids.

I'm not very artistic so I didn't draw them, or anything.

I would do that all the time, but often I would make entire profiles for these 'people' and sometimes even draw them. The names were always the most important part. Never knew why that interested me but it always has.
