[identity profile] one-broken.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
so i am currently single and thus not close to having kids but i do have names picked out. personally i like to stay away from the idea of sharing the same middle name with my child (me and my mum have the same middle name and i rather dislike it). my name is Nicole Josette which means victory of the people and God adds unto or subtracts. i have many names that are rather old fashioned in style because i like the fact you don't see them often now.

my list thus far:

Girls names
Ae sook meaning  love and purity in Korean (if i got the translation right)
Amity june (amity means friendship)
Melba rose ( thin skinned (not the most suited name but i love it because i have a great aunt with that name)
Opal li (precious gem)
Jasmine Marie
Iris Sophia
Violet Mae
Lily Anastasia
Elizabeth ivy
Dahlia Ariana
Olivia Danielle
Poppy Joanna
Cadence Alice (rhythm)
Aveline Zaynah (hazel lovely one)

Boys names
Micah Amos
David Elijah
Isaac Samuel

those are all i have right now but i love looking for interesting names with good meanings

I'm not keen on your boys' names, though they're not bad, but I LOVE your girls names! The only ones I don't like are Amity, Cadence and Zaynah.
I adore
Opal
Iris Sophia
Lily Anastasia

From your list, my favorite name is Melba Rose. Melba is so adorable, stunning. I also love Dahlia Ariana and Cadence Alice.

:-) Awesome list. I love how nothing is really common on your list yet nothing sounds too off the wall.

I initially liked Amity when I first saw it, but then it made me think of Amityville Horror and I thought twice, haha. Kind of depressing, because it's a pretty name!

I like Ariana and Dahlia, but not together. They seem too strong of names to pit next to each other...it's like they're competing for attention, haha.

I agree. As much as I like Amity and it's meaning, I really cannot disassociate it with Amityville.
