Yet another newbie!

Hello! I saw this on the LJ spotlight and even though I don't plan on having kids any time soon, I am so looking forward to being a mum. Me and my boyfriend have been together for nearly five years and we've talked about marriage and children.

So, I see that a lot of people post the names of themselves, their partner and family etc so here's mine:

Mine: Gemma (Yeah, I don't get a middle name :( Used to make me really sad as a child so I gave myself the middle name Harley)
Partner: Daniel Mark

Mother: Wendy Jean
Father: Dean Robert

Mother "in law": Karen (Don't know her middle name.)
Father "in law": Mark (ditto)
(Obviously they're not my actual in laws yet lol)

Sister: Mandie
Nephew: Reece Hayden Dean (I adore his name, seriously, I love his middle names)

Obvioulsy Danny has been given his dad's name as a middle name and my nephew has had my dads name.

Jensen James and Maddie Rose are my favourites, thats why I already have middle names for those ones!

Is 'Ariadne' a misspell? because I dont even know what that says. =\
I do like Ariana though, pretty name. Caleb is also a fave of mine.

No it's not a misspell, it's a character from the movie Inception. I've never heard the name before but I fell in love with it when I watched the movie. It's pronounced Ary-ad-knee if that makes sense?

I love Ariana but the boyfriend didn't like it at all when I mentioned it! I think Caleb is just...I don't know. There's something a little bit...mystic about it. For some reason I associate it with vampires and witches. And I love that kind of stuff lol.

Oooh, interesting, I've never heard that name but as i sound it out, it sounds kind of cool.

I agree about Caleb, and that might be because I've seen the movie "The covenant" one to many times lol.

It's really nice and the nickname/shortened version of it is Ari (so it would be Ary) which I kind of love :)

Yay! A covenant fan! I love that movie, I've seen it so many times. It is definitly one of the reasons I think of witches but I don't know why I think vampires lol!

I also like Dean, Reece (I like Rhys though), Evelyn, Aradne, and Genevieve.

I prefer Madeline Rose or Madeleine Rose with the nn Maddie.

Reece is named after the person from Terminator because my sister loved that name! He was nearly called something else. I like the spelling Rhys, the welsh version, but I don't think thats the one thats used in Terminator lol!

I should have said that Maddie would be the nickname *head desk* I didn't think, I just have that in my head lol! I don't know if I prefer Madison or Madeline...

Madeline/Madeleine (or other un-wacky spelling) is more classic IMO. =)
Madison is an avenue in NYC and not a name I consider lasting.

I actually think I prefer Madison slightly over Madeline. I know it's a avenue in NYC but it doesn't really have that significane to me. I think more of a character from Supernatural...lol.

I tend not to like nicknames as given names. I think it's nice to give a longer, more formal/official sounding name that the child can go by as (s)he grows up if (s)he so prefers. So I don't like Jim, Alex, or Maddie. Alex stands on its own a bit better than the others.

Miley sounds really cutesy and juvenile. I don't think it ages well at all.

Sorry, I should have said Jim and Maddie were nicknames. I didn't think, whoops lol. I do however, like Alex on it's own. My only problem with James is...I don't really like it as a first name. I like Jim, but I don't like James or Jamie. I don't know, I do like Jim, but it's not my favourite out of the names. I like Maddie because I can't decide between Madison or Madaline so I just say Maddie because I can't decide lol!

I kind of have a soft spot for Miley but I can see what you're saying.
