Additionally, I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on the order of "if you like XX, you might like XX." I've been using Nymbler, but I'm beginning to believe that it's just not as smart as it claims to be.
My top faves:
Girls: Lydia, Claire, Tessa, Nina, Margaret
Boys: Oliver, Dominic, Theodore
To go with sibling Alice Katherine.
Go!

Date: 2011-11-09 03:48 pm (UTC)Corinne - Not one of my favorites, but it sounds fine with the last name.
Elizabeth - While I love the name Elizabeth, I feel like the --th S-- is a little difficult to say. It comes out sounding slightly lispy or something.
Frances - It's not really a name I care for to begin with, but the main reason I voted no was because there were too many 's' sounds between it and the last name.
Lauren - I voted no on this one, but I'm starting to second guess myself. I've never liked the name (and I'm a Lauren myself), but it sounds really good with your last name. Ooh, but I forgot about the sibling thing. I think Lauren is too modern to go with Alice.
Leah - Another name for which I have just never cared.
Lydia - A very pretty name. I voted yes, although I kind of...well, it's really weird of me but Lydia is such a flowery, old-fashioned sort of name and your last name makes me think of space and the future and the dichotomy seems a little strange to me. Other than the mismatched images it conjures for me, it sounds fine, and it does go quite well with Alice.
Margaret - This is one of my favorite names in general and of your picks. I think it sounds good with the last name and it has so many nickname options -- Greta, Meg, Maggie, etc!
Nina - Sounds fine, just not one I like.
Olivia - It sounds fine, but I'm pretty sure I voted no, the reason being that it is so popular right now.
Theresa/Tessa - Theresa isn't a name I care for, although I think Tessa is really cute. Still, I voted no because of the abundance of 's' sounds.
Bennett - I think this is my favorite of all of the boy's names.
Charles - I don't really care for Charles and the S's run together so it ends up sounding a bit like the name is Charl S---.
Dominic - This also sounds really good with your last name, although it vibes differently than Alice to me.
Hunter - I don't care for this name and it seems so different stylistically from your other choices.
Joshua - I can't remember how I voted, but it is awfully popular right now and I don't care for it with Alice.
Linus - I adore this name, but again, I don't like how the S runs into the last name.
Micah - Okay name. Sounds fine with the last name. Don't like it with Alice.
Oliver - I like the name well enough and it goes well with Alice, but I hear "all over space" when I say the first and last together.
Russell - I like the name okay, but it doesn't really stand out from your other choices for me.
Samuel - I'm not sure how I feel about the matching initials.
Theodore - This is my other male favorite of your choices, and I think it goes excellently with Alice.
Other names you may like:

Tabitha

Charlotte
William (very popular though)
