Maybe it's being saddled with a slightly unusual one people struggle to pronounce (goodness knows why, it's not really difficult), but I've always had an obsession with names. From where I'm sitting I can see two baby names books in my room, heh. One memorable summer my cousin and I made a 'Dictionary of Horse Names'. I will never know exactly why. 

As of now my favourite names are:

(for a boy)
Benedict (...yeah...he'd get picked on if he was called 'Sherlock', wouldn't he?)
William (mainly so I could call him 'Elmo', short for the Italian equivalent Guglielmo)

(for a girl)
Jemimah ('Jemmy' for short)
Beatrice ('Bea', but maybe this as a middle name)
Giulia (Italian equivalent of 'Julia')

My little sister is Benedicte and no one has ever picked on her over it. She loves her name! As the last of five children the meaning is also apt!

Giulia reminds me of Julia Gulia from the Wedding Singer. ;)

I'm expecting (which is why I joined the community) and if we have a boy (we're not finding out!) he'll be named William!

I love Beatrice too, but my husband is not a fan so that was out of our girl's list. We've decided to go with Elizabeth, but can't seem to agree on a middle name.

Awww, lovely! And 'Elizabeth' is a great name - so many possible short-forms. I have a little cousin who everyone calls Beth but she will proudly tell anyone who asks what her full name is. :)
