NAMES. I love them and thinking about them and looking at them and...Yes.

So hey. I'm Carmen (my middle name is my mom's maiden name). My brothers are Matthew Henrik and Steven James, parents Kristy (whose middle name was once Nora but is now her maiden name) and Jim (James) John.

My aunts' names, on my dad's side, are Mary Josette (would have just been Josette, but the cardinal of Boston was at the hospital that day and baptized my aunt that way; she goes by Mary Jo) and Janet (my grandma planned to name them all with J's after her father, Juan); my grandparents are Pilar and Clemente. My dad's family is Filipino. The name Jaime (Spanish for James) and its derivatives occurs a whole lot in my family after my great-grandfather; in my dad's generation, there's Jaime, Jamie, and James (and Jamie was called Jaime until the eldest son had a son!).

On my mom's side, less interesting: my aunt's name is Kim, and my grandparents are Clarence (Larry) and Cynthia.

In my generation, my cousins are Anna (whose middle name is my family's last name), Noah Lambert (something to do with his dad's family), Carl Indi (male, goes by Indi, like his dad who was Carl Henrik but went by Henrik, and...I don't know where it came from), Moss Yates (also male--Mary Jo and her late husband, who named these two, were a little hippie, and Yates I hear just 'sounded nice'), and Grace Nora (after my maternal great-grandmother), Stella Jean (after her paternal grandmother), and Chloe Vada (after her paternal great-grandmother).

I can't say I mind any of them except Stella, really...I'm not entirely sure why, but to me it's borderline stripper...

Wow, that was a really long diatribe. Anyway!

Some names I love:
For boys:
Christopher
Michael (not Mike, maybe Mikey, but I love the full name)
Oliver (and ALL its derivatives)

For girls:
Tyler
Sawyer
Mila

Also...I knew a girl in high school whose name was Mia. Her sister's name was Tia. How do you feel about that one?

Okay...I just have to say, you are the ONLY other person I've ever seen on here w/ a family member/friend/etc. who has the name Henrik! Especially spelled that way. My step-dad is a Henrik. He gets Heinrich, Hendrick, etc. but no one ever seems to get his name right. Anyway, I just was so surprised to see that name pop up.

My step-dad is actually german, and so I think people had a problem with the name in both the U.S. and in Germany. But I wouldn't think it would be that hard!
