Yet another new member! Sorry guys, this'll be getting old quickly :p

My name is Louisa and I've always loved finding out name meanings and origins. I do a bit of fic writing so I'm always looking for new names.

Recently I welcomed two new arrivals to my family. My uncles fiancee gave birth a couple of weeks ago to Olly James and this morning my best friends little brother's daughter arrived. She's called Mia Isabelle. Funny that they've both got what could be seen as nicknames for first names :) I'm a fan of longer 'sunday' names myself purely because I love nicknames so something that can be shortened is awesome :D

In terms of names that I would name any babies I'd ever have, the list is soo long! I feel sorry for any kids I might have because they'll be most likely named after Greek gods or fictional characters. I do like a few more 'normal' names. James, Nathan and Elizabeth to be exact. I really like 'boys' names for girls like Dylan and Aiden to name but a couple.

Quick question for discussion! Do any of you have names that people often confuse the pronunciation of? Does it offend you if people get it wrong? I get called Louise a lot but I think thats people just not paying attention. Occasionally I get Loo-eesss-ah when I've always said my name with more of a z sound. It's more the spelling people tend to struggle with :p

One of my friends is named "Tanea". I think it's a beautiful name, and her family pronounces it "tuh-nay-uh".

She's gotten some pretty creative pronunciations.

I would've pronounced it "she-era", personally. :p

I have a friend named Andrea... but the male Italian pronunciation which is more like anh DRAY uh with a rolled "n" sound. He is frequently called "ANN dree uh" like the female English version.
