I just wanted to know what y'all think of the name Daisy Mae. It's presently my first choice for a girl's name. A few of my friends have expressed disdain.

Um... I so don't want to get involved with this, but don't you think you're over-reacting a little? Part of blogging is to express your opinion, so I don't know why you're behaving so negatively when someone has expressed their opinion about your name choice. If you want to name a girl Elliot, then go ahead. It's not like we random internet losers can have any real say in your children's names.

it's not that at all. it's just that saying "that's so wrong" is a lot different than "why would you choose that?" and part of the community rules are to disagree respectfully. attacking someone's name choice blatantly without any justification is ridiculous. sure, calling someone a cunt isn't particularly mature either but it's relative when it comes to the internet anyway, right?

for the record, i agree with that completely. in fact, i normally say "why would you choose that?" so why i didn't this time is a mystery. it wasn't meant to be a personal attack, that's for sure, so i'm sorry.

I'm not talking about your behavior towards others name choices, as I'm not really in a position to argue for or against that. I'm mearly speaking to your reaction towards others opinions on your name choice. You even mentioned your immature behavior in your comment before this one. That's what I was talking about, not the names.

i never claimed to be mature but when it comes to someone's choice of name for their CHILD, i'll always show a bit of tact. name-calling, though? haha, that's a different story. i'm like a ten year old boy.
