What do you associate with the name "Rudolf"?

As usual, I am not asking about any actual child. Just curious about how many people are going to give me a certain answer.

The red-nosed reindeer. I know it's spelled differently, but out loud, they're the same.

When I see that spelling, my first thoughts do not go to the flying Christmas mammal, lol. I think of someone with German heritage, and perhaps some affluence. It seems very old-fashioned.

I think given that he was never the most prominent person from that era *and* how long he's been dead it's not surprising not many people think of him. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people didn't even know who he was.

That said it came to mind instantly for me and I'm quite irritated with myself that Valentino didn't spring to mind at all!

the red nosed reindeer. or a very old man in a smoking jacket, puffing on a pipe next to a fire. And 'rudolph' also makes me think of "adolph" which isn't awesome.
