Just saw this today:

Country singer Ashton Shepherd has something new to sing about: She and husband Roland Cunningham welcomed a daughter, Raden Delilah Cunningham, on Friday, Sept. 9

I've never heard of Raden. Another of the -aden trend. Ugh. What do you think?

Kids may taught him with the nickname Rad, which is no fun, and then there's the Mortal Kombat reference adults will think of when they see it. Not a well thought out choice.

I don't like -aden names in general, though, so I could be biased.

My sister's best friend named her son Raiden after the character in Mortal Kombat, so yeah...it's awful. I've heard it in person, and it's awful.

My DH's cousin named his son Raiden after the Mortal Kombat God. I think it is pretty cool, but I loved Mortal Kombat! Could still beat that game on one quarter I bet!

I know a girl who's 14 now who's Reidun. I hate the name, but it totally suits her and works on her. I can't imagine her as anything else.
