Help! Middle names for Malcolm?
Sep. 9th, 2011 10:10 amSo my husband and I just found out yesterday that we are expecting a boy.
We've been settled on Malcolm as a first name. We both love it; it's masculine without being in your face, it's not that commonly used and yet still recognizable/easy to spell for most people, and it has some good nickname possibilities.
My father passed away a few years ago and my mother assumed we would use his name as a middle name (David). And while I have nothing against David, it just doesn't flow that well with Malcolm to me, and it really does nothing for me overall. I've also never really been big into naming a child after someone else.
So now I'm on the search for either A. a good middle name or B. a good middle name that can also be paired with David for one of those fancy double middle names, to appease my mother.
Our last name is three-ish syllables, ending in "son", if that helps.
My boy names list originally included:
1. Alexander
2. Julian
3. Leif
4. Grey
5. Malcolm
6. Callum
7. Alistair
8. Duncan
I'm also very into nature names.
Thanks in advance!

Date: 2011-09-09 10:03 pm (UTC)I also like Malcolm Alistair. Malcolm Julian David is okay too, although I would hesitate to add another middle name if it's just to please someone else, even if that someone is my mother, but that's just me.
Other ideas, with David in parenthesis where I think it could work with it:
Malcolm Tate
Malcolm Mackenzie (David)
Malcolm Donovan (David)
Malcolm Louis
Malcolm Wyatt (David)
Malcolm James
Malcolm Joseph (David)
Malcolm Owain (David)
Malcolm Oliver (David)

Date: 2011-09-10 04:18 am (UTC)Malcom Grey sounds awesome!! In fact, Malcom David Grey doesn't sound too bad at all.
My youngest son is named Noah Grey and we are very happy with his name.
Good luck!
