In one of my favorite fandoms, an episode is dedicated to trying to figure out what BJ's name stands for. It sounded like a game for this community (or maybe I'm just silly :)).

(For those who want to know the punch line, he was named for his mother Bee and his father Jay).

That reminds me of my ex-coworker's kid CJ. I've always wondered what it stood for but never asked. I was underwhelmed when I found out that her name was actually Seajay. Not a terrible name, it was just so anti-climatic.

We just got back from a Blue Angel's air show (US Navy) and one of the pilots was C.J. He even had that on his uniform. I wondered what it was for, but didn't ask when he was signing my poster.

My aunts name is Bonnie Jean and she recently started going by BJ instead on Bonnie. WHY a middle-aged woman would want to be called BJ I do not understand!

Most of the people I know with a name like that are "junior".

TJ = Thomas, junior

CJ = Christopher, junior

BJ = Benjamin, junior

I never thought of that option. But I was not really exposed to initial names like that for most of my life, save DJ from Full House and Roseanne.

I knew a female BJ in junior high. (She was teased horribly, of course.) It stood for Billiee Jodean. Awful, awful name.
Plus, her last name was Raye, which just totally ups the white trash status considerably.
