Victoria and David Beckham welcomed a baby girl on Sunday, People Magazine reports. In the evening, David took to Facebook to announce his newborn's name: Harper Seven

Personally, I love Harper and Seven is a total GP. My only problem with the name is that Harper Seven Beckham seems really rhymey with the similar sounds and everything having two syllables.

The more I hear and see Harper, the less I like it. It's trendy and not pretty or cute sounding IMO. It reminds me of a harpoon.

Seven I don't really have a problem with, although I've heard it to be used on a boy. It's... interesting.

I think the flow is off on the whole name though.

I agree! The first time I saw the name Harper, I quite liked it, but the more I see it the less appealing it becomes.

Seven is quite nice though.

Harper is so meh. I was expecting something so much more fabulous from these two. Disappoint.

Maybe she was conceived in Canada? It's our prime minister's name. (Okay, I'm joking and sure hope they didn't name him after that douche bag.)

I second this! (on many levels!)

I am so curious the difference in popularity between "Harper" as a little girls name in Canada and in the USA. I can't imagine anyone in Canada could get away with calling their baby that. ... could they?

I honestly don't know anyone that named their kid Harper, either in the US or Canada. It can't be that popular...But yeah, I highly doubt you could name your kid that in Canada and not have someone look at your oddly or believe there's no connection to the PM.

I like it more than the boys' names.

I'm quite pleased about Harper, although it sounds much better in my mind than aloud.
I'm meh about the Seven part, but overall I'm happy with their choice. It sounds nice altogether. My guess for their pick was Destiny.

I really dislike the name Harper. I don't understand the fascination with it. There's not feminine or pretty about it, imo.

Ugh. Harper is a last name. I really don't like the trend of using last names as first names. Harper just sounds ugly as a first name. Seven is just a random word they are using as a name. :/

Ehhhhhhhh all around. I was expecting more.

Our (Canadian) prime minister forever ruined that name for me.:/

I'm actually a little disappointed in the name ... I was expecting something cutesy and girly, and Harper isn't that for me.

I kind of like Seven, though. I think it's cute that it works in terms of her birth month, weight, and time (I think?).

I was too! I thought for sure they'd have something that at least stood out as a girl's name.

You would think after three boys, they would have and want the frilliest girl name possible.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, not that I like names like Cecelia or something any better, but that's the kind of name I had set myself up to expect, so this is coming out of nowhere.

I wish Harper was used more as a boy's name.

I prefer to combine unisex names with names which clearly state gender, I find it more balanced (and quite frankly, less 'trendy'; most unisex names are really NMS). But Harper Seven? The best thing that can be said about it is that it's boring as hell. But of course, better than Cruz or Brooklyn.

I think the 'seven' thing might be a reference to Dad - he wore the number 7 shirt for the duration of his time with United, and he wore the Number 7 shirt when he played for England, so I suspect there is some personal significance.

I kind of love it, which really annoys me because I'm not a fan of the Beckhams at all!

I really like Harper, and I'm sad that now I have to cross it off my list for any future daughter (it was in my top 5). I don't really think of it as unisex or surnamey (both trends I dislike).

Seven is a total guilty pleasure. I know it's a stupid name (it's a NUMBER for heaven's sake!) but it reminds me of Seven Of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager, and I think it's kind of cool. Middle names are allowed to be weird anyway, IMO :)

Overall, I think it's much better than their boys' names and I'm a little surprised because I expected something sillier and more "out there". I don't think Harper Beckham flows very well though.

I've never liked Harper, but weirdly enough, it's become so overused lately that it comes across as boring now!

Odd that they gave such frilly girly names (Romeo and Brooklyn) to two of their sons and then choose such a non-frilly name for their GIRL.
