A name I overheard at the library yesterday--- Pharaoh. WDYT? Guessing on spelling, but wouldn't be surprised if it was something more kr8tyve.

I was pleased with how many children I saw at the library. I don't think I can say the same about their parents' name choices.

It may be Faro or Faroe? Hopefully not Farrow (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/farrow), or Phero(mones).

It could just be a masculine Farrah. Faroe isn't so bad, since it's a real place name, seems cute and ethnic. But Pharaoh - no. Might as well call him Emperor.

I hate, hate, hate when people take random words and force them to be names. This definitely falls into that category in my opinion.

Not that it matters, but was the child a boy or girl?

I tend to agree, but there are lots of names that have become "traditional" which once were random words or profession descriptions -- most people wouldn't raise an eyebrow at names like Hunter, Archer, Bailey, Carter, Chandler, Sawyer, etc.
