[identity profile] catchafaiinstar.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
For the longest time I had my girl name all picked out and ready to go. When i had my 3d/4d ultrasound last Friday and we found it was a she I was excited i was able to use my name. However, as it turns out my mother is uncomfortable with me using the name of my deceased baby sister Marissa and I love my mom and completely respect her wishes. I am opposed to any variations or anything similar to my sisters name btw. Now I am stuck on some similar girls names all starting with the letter A and ending with A! and i've narrowed it down to just a few. Please kindly help me i'm a FTM and I chose these names as options because i'm not into the popular names that are going around these days. I'm Italian these names really tickled my fancy..but i decide which one i love more then the other. I love all three of these names and it really has came down to tallying up a poll between communities and family & friends.  Thanks you! :)

Audrianna

Aubrianna

Aubriella

This. I would much prefer just Audrey or Aubrey. I also agree with the poster below that it'll probably get confused with Adrianna a lot. I read it three times before I realized it wasn't Adrianna.

Also for not wanting to go with something popular, these strike me as very very trendy.

I think what makes them trendy (IMO) is the way they are formulated. Aubrey/Aubrie/Aubri is trendy in my mind and sticking -anna or -ella on the end of most things just strikes me as the same.

But then again I had a kid in 2005 and we named her Emilie...Emily being the top name for that year. I didn't really care if other people saw it as trendy because I think it's a classic that just happened to be experiencing popularity at the time. :)

Audrianna for sure! Although you might have to deal with a lot of people spelling it "Adrianna." I like Aubriella but it sounds like I'm mispronouncing Gabriella when I say it out-loud. Btw my current favorite name is also a name that starts and ends with A= Anabella.

I'm an Adriana so I guess I'm sort of partial to Audrianna, though none of these are my style at all.

Audrianna. My friend has an Audrianna and calls her Audri for short.

My vote goes to Aubrianna, because Audrianna is a badly butchered version of Adriana and Aubriella sounds too close to Gabriella.
As an italian myself, I'm not sure what the appeal is in these names, but to each their own :)

For a split second I thought your first name was Adriana which I love so I was going to vote for that. Audrey was my aunt and Diana is my name, so Audrianna looks like my name and my aunt's name combined.

I guess over all I'd have to vote on Audrianna, as I hate Aubrey and all variants. It's still not really my style though.

I don't like any of them.

I think Audrey Anna or Aubrey Anna/Aubrey Ella would be nicer, the names on your list look mushed together, kind of like you were just trying to make Audrey/Aubrey frilly and princess-y.

What do you think of Arabella, Araminta, Aurora, Aurelia, Annora, Annabella, Andromeda, Amelia, Acacia, Adriana, Agatha, Alexandra/Alexandria/Alexandrina, Aria, Alicia, Allegra, Alma, Althea, Ambrosia, Anastasia, Andra, Audra, Andrea, Angelica/Angela/Angelina, Annalisa, Antonia, Asia, Astoria, Augusta, Ayla?

> I have been a big fan of the name Amelia since i was set to use it with the original name i had. I haven't completely crossed that name out of my list

Amelia is so lovely and elegant! It has my vote for sure!

if I have to pick, I'd pick Aubrianna, purely because the other ones sound strange.

Audrianna is the least weird, so I'll go with that. I think names where the d form is more common but the b form has become common (okay that's confusing-- so Audry vs. Aubry) are pretty but that they're both getting dated and there's such a thing as going too far-- like with Aubrianna.

I actually like the way Aubriella sounds, but it's still quite a mouthful and the name looks ugly to me.

I vote for Audrianna.

Caveat: if you don't like popular names I wouldn't choose any of these.
Of the 3 I think Audrianna is the best but I vastly prefer Adriana.

I think Aubriella is the prettiest.

Audrianna, but I really prefer Adriana, which is the original Italian spelling, I believe. I agree with what other people have said though; all of these come off as very "trendy," and I think you're going to be disappointed if you want to avoid that sort of name and you use them.

A few others you might like:
Adelina
Alba
Alberta
Amelia
Annetta
Antonia

I like a lot of combo names too. Gratz on the little princess!

They're all a real mouthful to me, but I don't know if maybe that's a regional thing? If I had to choose, I'd pick Audrianna, but I think Adriana is just a little more classic.

They're all a little trendy for my tastes though. I have met SO MANY BABIES called Aubrey or Audrey or variations thereof in the past year that it would make your head spin.
