at the library, I heard two interesting names.

Tyne, on a girl about seven years old, and
Kestrel, a girl about twelve.

Kestrel sounds like a brand of toothpaste or something. Tyne is interesting, I'd probably like it more if it were spelled/looked differently.

Tyne makes me think of twine. Kestrel sounds more masculine to me. It also reminded me of thestrals from Harry Potter when I first saw it.

They are indeed interesting. But I'm still trying to figure out what Kestrel sounds like. The way I keep saying it, sounds awfully close to either "cholesterol" or "casserole".

I have to admit the ornithologist in me kind of likes Kestrel as a guilty pleasure male name (see icon) but I would never use it and especially not on a girl and Tyne makes me think of tines on a fork.

I love Tyne! One of my friends' friends is called Tyne, and I think it's so pretty and feminine in an unusual way.
