Cat names

I am thinking of getting a Maine Coon cat some day :)
They're a very intriguing breed, huge cats, very sweet, and most importantly, resembling a raccoon! And I'm thinking of naming him/her Mackenzie, so I'm curious to know what you think of it for a cat. It's also a name my SO has always liked, but we could never use it for a kid (wouldn't go over too well in Italy)

Suggestions are welcome and feel free to share your cats'/pets' name :D

I actually really dislike Mackenzie but it's a little more bearable on a cat.

Really not fond of Mackenzie personally, but I have a Maine Coon named Juniper. She's super sweet and super dumb, haha.

My other cats names are Sebastian, Phoebe, and Jupiter!

I'd probably end up calling him/her Kenzie for short. It might be a little effeminate for a male, but I think it would be cute all the more!

I love Mackenzie on human boys, but somehow, I have trouble picturing it on a Maine Coon. I guess it could work. I would prefer the nn Mack over Kenzie though, which I see in a comment you said you would probably use. I don't think it needs a nn though. My cat is named Endora, same number of syllables, and she answers to it just fine.

I don't like it on girls because it is trendy over here and I can't seem to separate it from that, even for a cat. :\

I really dislike that name, but if you must use it, a cat would be better than a baby! I know someone who is about to name her baby Mackenzie aurora and I wish I could do something to stop that train wreck!

I would quite like the name Mackenzie for a cat! You can always shorten it to Mack, Macky, Kenz, Kenzie, Kenny...
My own present cats are Carrot (ummm. Chosen by my husband. She's a tortoiseshell. The cat, not my husband), a tuxedo boy called Dylan and two black brothers called Otis and Marvin. My cats who are now in Kitty Heaven are Sophia, Phoebe, Coffee, Sherbet and Lenny AKA BigFatLen.

I think it's cute. But I think you probably have to look at the cat before naming him. Just like a baby.

My maine coon's name is One. My not quite 2 yr old at the time daughter named her. Maybe she was expecting more? Other cat is Hunter, a gigantic orange poofball, named by the humane society we adopted him from.

Mackenzie is ok, b/c it is not a human. (i don't like it on humans, lol)

I have a 4 year old Maine Coon named Smoke. My mother picked his name since he's a greyish/charcoal color, how unique lol. They're one of my absolute favorite cat breeds. He's basically a big furry giant that loves to drink water from the bath tub and be brushed :P He (http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss66/owlcities/misc/Photo0086.jpg) also likes to be tucked in like an actual person.
