(no subject)

holy crap, I'm pregnant!

My favorite girls names as of right now are:
Ava Rose
Norah Rose
Addison Rose

(Rose is after my Aunt who raised me when my mother passed away)

Boys:
Hubby is dead set on Ronald Thomas because he is Ronald Lee, his dad is Ronald Thomas, his grandfather is Ronald Lee, etc, etc.

I hate it!

I like:
Elliot
Seth
Jack

I'm looking for boy and girl name suggestions that sound good with Crosbie.

thanks!

I like Norah Rose a lot better than Ava Rose (just because Ava is SO ridiculously popular right now).

Why not using Ronald as a middle name or just Thomas? Or maybe two middle names? I think Thomas is nice but Ronald DOES seem out of style right now. It will make a comeback though eventually, I'm sure.

Maybe a name close to Ronald? Ronan?

I really like Elliot with Crosbie. I agree with the above comment, Ronan is quite nice or either of the names for a middle name is fine. Elliot/Jack/Seth Thomas all sound nice. I've never been a fan of naming a child after yourself though, as a middle name to carry on family tradition i understand.. but the full name is just a bit off for me!

I find that Norah Rose sounds awkward, with the two "r" sound it doesn't flow well. And I do also prefer Ava to Norah, well actually I prefer Eva (Eh-va).

Thomas is nice and sounds good with Crosbie.

Maybe you could compromise (if your husband is unwilling to budge) and add a second middle name to Ronald Thomas and call him by the second middle name. Ronald Thomas Elliot?

My thoughts exactly.

As for girls, I like Ava Rose the best. NORah ROse CROsbie is too heavy on the R sound for my liking.

Congrats by the way!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Norah and Seth are my favorites from what you've mentioned.

Ronald isn't a name that I am fond of, but it's not completely awful. Still, if you hate it, I wouldn't budge. Just make Ronald the middle name of whatever first name you choose. That way, you still honor the tradition without giving your son a name you loathe!

I love Ronan! Or you could change the order...Thomas Ronald Crosbie. I am all in favor of honoring names, but I do think a child deserves his/her own name. Ava Rose is beautiful, but popular. I like Norah Rose and don't have an issue with the repeating r sounds. I love Jack Elliot Crosbie!

GRATZ on the baby!

Congratulations!

I know Ava Rose is like the most popular name ever right now, but it's so pretty! I like Norah Rose a lot, too.

I love Thomas, but Ronald is... eh. Elliot Thomas?

Congrats!! I love Rose, what a nice tribute to your aunt. Have you considered using Rose as the first name? Ava and Norah are lovely names but Ava is SOSOSO popular and Norah Rose Crosbie has kind of a lot of Rs in it. Not a huge deal, but slightly awkward to pronounce.

If he's following the trend, wouldn't he use his middle name but not his first name? Perhaps you could sell him on that. If he is willing to use a different first name, does it have to be an R name? I think all of your examples would work with Thomas.

Ronald is awful =[

[identity profile] duck-deluxe.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
of your girl choices, Norah is my favorite, but I have a Norah, so I'm a little biased there ;-)

Ronald is terrible."Ronnie" (which someone would call him, I'm sure) is equally as heinous in my opinion. There HAS to be some sort of compromise there...

The really long list posted above has just about all the names I was going to suggest...good luck and congrats!!

I love Ava Rose and Jack =)
