As many of you may recognize from my icon, I am a Big Love fan. It's honestly my favorite show ever.
Big Love offers a bevy of names. I thought I'd concentrate mostly on the main family, the Henricksons. I have starred the names I like.

Margene was never a name I liked until watching this show. It used to sound elderly to me. However, Ginnifer Goodwin is just about the cutest, bubbliest thing you could ever possibly imagine, so now the name Margene/Margie sounds youthful and sweet to me!

Which are your favorites? Any you hate? Lester is just TERRIBLE to me. The rest, aside from the ones I starred...meh.

I honestly hadn't really ever heard the name before watching this show, and he's such a vile, disgusting character on Big Love...it's hard for me to separate.

I think it's a nice name when I remove all context...but being so obsessed with the show, it will probably always have that bit of subtext.

My dads name is William and I like it and have considered it if I ever have a boy child, but I hate the nickname Bill, and people call my dad "Willie" all the time and I hate that too.

I don't really like any on the names, with the exception of Benjamin, which is at the very tippy top our boy's list, but I love them for this show. I've listened to a few NPR interviews with the creator, who is an ex Mormon, and I just recently moved to Utah, and the names are spot on. For serious. I can't tell you how many little Waynes there are running around out here. (And I have met five Wyatts. Five!) Plus, the last names are pure genius. It would have been a 10 for 10 if they had spelled Henrickson "Henricksen" instead. (Most of the LDS out here have Scandinavian-ish surnames, so you see a LOT of Andersens, Hansens, Christiansens, etc.)

I sort of like Lois, although I think it is my overwhelming like for Grace Zabrinski and not the actual name. :)

I don't think I ever even knew what Teenie's real name was, I assumed it'd be a name I'd heard before... so I find it interesting that I haven't. Is it pronounced the way it's spelled? (tan-see)

Yep...TAN-see. Like Nancy, with a T. I have to admit, I think it's cute! Just a little too nick-namey for me.

I was just thinking the other day how I pretty much hate all the characters' names, although I love the show. I love William, but not Bill, and I like Sarah but it's not a name I'd ever consider.

What's interesting is that the only Brynn I have ever met in real life was Mormon (we actually have a lot of Mormons in the suburbs of Atlanta... at least in my area)
