Ahh, please help me choose a name for my baby girl!
I kinda want something to do with my Christian faith as a middle or first name (one or the other). I really like Grace, but does anyone know any names that aren't necessarily super Biblical, but have meanings that pertain to God? For example, my niece's name is Eliana which means "my God answers me", and I know there are a lot of Hebrew boy names like that - Nathan, Jesse, etc. I was wondering if anyone knew any girls names that fit this description?
I'm also interested in any unique, pretty Greek names. I like Charis (which means Grace), Alethia (which means Truth), and Rhema (which means the word of God). WDYT?
We are still VERY open to any suggestions, but I'd like your opinion on my favourites:
Madelyn Grace
Norah Grace
Amara Grace
Gabrielle Joy
What's a nice first name to go with the middle name Isabelle?

Date: 2011-05-16 01:04 am (UTC)One of my girl friend's names is Meridith Grace (yes, MerIdith). I think it's pretty, but Meridith means great noble ruler, though, so not along the lines you're looking for.
I love Norah Grace (but would personally leave off the H).

Date: 2011-05-16 06:41 am (UTC)Also, Anne/Anna/Hannah/Anya mean "grace" and Annie is a sweet nickname. :)
Catherine/Katherine means "pure" and so does Agnes, which probably isn't your style, but the Welsh version Nesta is really pretty! Miriam is a version of Mary and also an Aramaic name meaning "longed for child" which is sweet. Mirabelle/Mirabella might be your style, too, meaning "wonderful" and Miranda means "marvelous", Roxanna means "dawn" or "little star".
Harmonia obviously means harmony and is a lovely name with Greek roots. Eudora is a pretty Greek name which means "generous gift," great meaning for a sweet new daughter. :) More Greek names: Phaedra (fay-dra), means "light", Rhoda means "rose", Theodosia means "giving to god"/Theodora means "gift of god", Zoe means "life".

Date: 2011-05-16 11:55 pm (UTC)You MAY have seriously just named my daughter. I REALLY love Cora (my maiden name is Corbett, so I like that it will pay homage to that as well), and I think it goes well with the middle name Isabelle too.
