Names, Reprise

We're having one baby (don't know the gender... yet), but I've decided we need a couple of choices in case it comes out and just isn't the name we picked out.


BOYS: Ezra, Aziz, Liam, Ewan
(middle name ideas: Aziz, Hadir, Beathan, Mal(colm)...)

GIRLS: Safiya, Naima, Yasmin(a), Mariya
(middle name ideas: Alexandra, Gayle, Mariya...)

out of your boys names i only really like liam, the others are a bit obscure for my liking. and i've always preferred jasmine to yasmin. but that's just me :]

I like your choices. Ezra and Safiya are my favorites.

Aziz - how do you pronounce?
Beathan - reminds me a bit too much of Bethany and Beatrice
Naima - there was a girl on America's Next Top Model named this.

I like them all except Beathan and Mal. I like Malcolm, but mal alone means bad in spanish.

The only girl combo I dont like is Safiya Mariya. Unless I'm pronouncing Mariya wrong, they rhyme.

Aziz is great for a boy, and I love your choice of Safiya for a girl. I think Mariya sounds great for the middle name...

I just want to make sure that you know Yasmin is a brand of birth control pills. That could lead to major teasing in high school for a girl.

Thanks. I do know that. By the time I was in high school, no one would have bothered. Hopefully that would be true or she'd have enough character to realize they're morons. Yasmin (yahz-MEEN) is a beautiful name!

my sister is called safia! i love her name! only thing is that most people say it like 'sofia' but eh...that's a pretty name too!
i also love naima and yasmina! i think if you're going to pronounce it yahz-meen, i would spell it like 'yasmine'. that's the way north-african/french-speakers spell it, i think it's sweet. i love arabic girls names- i'm zahra. :)

for the girls, i really only like safiya, but thats only because i like the name sofia and it sounds pretty similar.

I'm not a big fan of any of your girl names, they're just not my style :)
