May. 8th, 2011 11:25 pmHello. Me again!
Sorry, you guys are probably becoming very sick of my posts!
But once again, I come to you because I need advice.
We have decided to scratch Plum as a middle name for Veda, even thought I love it, Plum just doesn't sound quite right with Veda.
So I've made a list of other possibilites;
Veda Blossom
Veda Button (Her daddy thought this up and LOVES it lol)
Veda Olive
Veda Honey
Veda Bliss
Veda Bloom
Veda June
We have also scratched Atticus Jem, because it felt weird and wrong using those names when we have no connection with the book (to Kill a Mockingbird) whatsoever. So instead, our back-up boy's list is open again.
Along with August, we like;
Hugo
Otis &
Felix
Middle will likely be Jem/Gem, but we're open to suggestions.
What do you guys think?
We need help! lol. Baby Bean will be here in three weeks and we still aren't completely set on a name! We're already failing at this whole parenting thing..haha
TIA

Date: 2011-05-08 01:44 pm (UTC)As for Veda, I like Veda June the most. I also like Veda Blossom. :)
Veda Honey sounds to me like you're saying "Veda, honey..." so I personally find that a bit strange. But that might just be me haha.

Date: 2011-05-08 02:39 pm (UTC)As for the boys, I like Hugo best, followed closely by Felix. And I think either would sound fine with Gem/Jem.
ps. I always like your posts! I think you have a lovely naming style.

Date: 2011-05-08 02:42 pm (UTC)Anyway, I love the sound and look of Veda June, that one is definitely my favorite! Veda Olive and Veda Bloom are pretty too.
Otis is one of my favorite boy's names, so needless to say I think that one's GREAT. Otis Jem sounds good, too.

Date: 2011-05-08 10:26 pm (UTC)I like Veda Blossom a lot :)
Felix Jem sounds pretty interesting, but I also like August a lot
Gem is a little too feminine, I think, so I prefer the Jem spelling. However, Jem really reminds me of this cartoon (that's Jem in the picture)

Date: 2011-05-09 12:14 am (UTC)Veda Button is actually really sweet. I like all of the names on your list, except I'd nix Veda Olive just because the -a and soft O sounds a tad bit awkward sounding. Veda Blythe is another name you might like, in the same vein as Blossom, Bloom, and Bliss. :) Veda Petal would be cute, too. Oh, or Veda Poppy or Veda Marigold...I'll stop now. :P I still really like Dorothy Bird/Dottie, though...it's definitely my favorite of your list!
Love August, Otis, and Felix! Hugo is nice too, though with a noun middle name like Gem/Jem it just makes me think "Huge Gem" which might be weird?

Wolf would be pretty awesome.
Felix Wolf, or even August Wolf I really like.
I also love Veda Petal.
Thank you so much!

Date: 2011-05-09 04:38 am (UTC)I like all of your boys names except Otis, which I don't hate, just don't love. And I even with the slight To Kill a Mockingbird reference, I much prefer Jem to Gem.
