Over here (in the UK) Meredith has always been more common on men. The only female Meredith I've ever met was American.

true, but also like Ashley, it's more of a girls' name now. (At least in my neck of the woods, can't speak for everywhere)

I'm in the UK and I've never actually met a female Ashley!

I read that Meredith was her father's name- but still...ouch

It looks like I'm alone, but I actually love the name Meredith for a boy. :)

Interesting coincidence: One of my best girl friends is Meridith and her ex-boyfriend is Daniel. *lol*

I love Meredith for a boy, too. It's very masculine to me, but in a soft, gentle, subtle way. A Mr. Bingley type, if you will.

I know it's unisex, and I see how it could work on a boy, but Grey's Anatomy has turned it into a very feminine name for me.

I know Meredith was originally a male name, but I don't think anyone in the US sees it as one now. :^/

I don't like Meredith anyways, I think of the fiance from Parent Trap... and then I wouldn't use it on a boy these days...

Not my favorite name, but a very feminine seeming one to me as well (in Canada). Also a name of a female character in Dragon Age II, which doesn't help.

Daniel, I love.

Hmm. I think I like Meredith better as a boys name, actually.

Not my favourite name ever, but in general I do love boys names-->girls names-->boys names, if that makes sense :)

(I love names like Jordan, Morgan, Kelly on boys.)
